When you think of a PNW forest, this is what you imagine. Right on the edge of Frink Park, enveloped by giant cedars and broadleaf maple trees sits an undeveloped lot prime for a dream house. The lot, being extremely steep and subject to erosion, requires significant engineering to design a house that can withstand a potential landslide. The payoff for a complicated design is a one-of-a-kind treehouse that perches above the ground and sits in the canopy. The homeowners can feel at one with nature with unparalleled privacy in an urban context.
Our clients turned to us to develop this unique vision and bring together the team of consultants needed for this challenging build. Drawing inspiration from historic fire lookout towers, we designed a multilevel structure that raises the main living space above the forest floor. Numerous decks and balconies afford homeowners direct access to the forest.
