Like many house stories go, this is a tried and true tale of a first home purchase in a great neighborhood. The location was amazing, but the house desperately needed a creative eye and a bigger footprint to make it work for our clients long-term. We designed a straightforward, modern addition that turned their little bungalow with a tiny postage-stamp kitchen into a gracious pad for entertaining.
We loved injecting their personality into the project with custom woodworking inspired by midcentury modern Danish furniture pieces. The “alley of doors” received extra attention with black quirk molding, making an otherwise ordinary hallway special and celebrated. Our clients loved the fact that their home was unique and tailored exactly to their specific tastes. Their new home with old bones showcases the transformational power of a renovation.
